In October, Carina Mood delivered a keynote presentation at the FOR IN-conference arranged by the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Offices in Estonia in collaboration with the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research, the University of Tartu, Tartu Welcome Centre, the UNHCR Representation for the Nordic and Baltic Countries and the Swedish Embassy in Tallinn.
The main focus of the conference was to discuss the importance of education in integration processes at the local level and to share experiences and best practices regarding the integration of Ukrainian refugees in the Nordic-Baltic Region. Representatives from various sectors including academia, local governments, and state organizations in the Nordic-Baltic region presented their knowledge and shared key data on immigration and integration in their respective countries and organizations, which was followed by collaborative discussions.
Carina Mood presented research on integration through education, based on her and her collaborators research using CILS4EU and Swedish register data. The slides from the presentation can be found here.
